NovaNano is a cutting-edge innovation technology company specialized in the emerging domain of nanosatellites – satellites of 1 to 50 kg mass. We provide full-chain, end-to-end solutions to validate technology bricks in orbit for customers who do not have all necessary capabilities to manufacture and operate spacecraft. This genuine turnkey service is based on 8 simple components:
The mission analysis and definition with the customer allows settling down all the fundamental parameters (mass, orbit, mission lifetime, up and downlink budget, etc.) of the mission. It also allows identifying and structuring of all necessary actions and tasks to be carried out within the Manufacturing and Launch Services Agreements. Moreover, it allows determining clearly in advance the responsibilities of all parties involved in the mission.
Once the Manufacturing Services Agreement is signed, NovaNano designs, manufactures and qualifies the NovaSat bus according to Client’s requirements. The satellite manufacturing process is carried out under severe quality assurance policy. Subsequently, the Payload provided by the Customer is integrated within NovaSat and qualified for the mission.
Depending on the mission parameters (orbital elements and desired launch date), NovaNano proposes via its partner Launch Service providers to find an appropriate launch opportunity for the nanosatellite mission. The client can either choose from the list of already negotiated launch opportunities or mandate NovaNano to negotiate a launch opportunity for a different orbit or launch services providers. This process also involves the procurement of a suitable separation mechanism, which depending on the spacecraft type (CubeSat standard or other), is either provided by NovaNano (FlyMate™) or by the Launch Vehicle provider.
As an option, NovaNano proposes via its partner insurance brokering company a space insurance policy for all the activities related to launch and satellite in-orbit operations. Learn more
Following the spacecraft qualification and acceptance by the Customer, NovaNano takes charge of the equipment shipment and the launch campaign at the Launch Site. The campaign usually begins 15 days before the launch and includes the various pre-launch satellite preparation operations including: spacecraft acceptance testing, spacecraft integration on the Launch Vehicle up to the final count down leading to the launcher lift-off.
Through its on ground telecommunication infrastructure, NovaNano provides the capability to control the satellite and its payload in-orbit and to relay the generated data to the Customer during the mission lifetime.
The usual timeline between the signature of the Nanosat mission service and the effective launch of the payload on orbit is around 12 months.
